The first thing you will need to is to find all the items that aren't selling. This next part is where you're gonna need a shovel. Dive into that stack of paper on your desk and try to find out what you paid for these "Hidden Treasures". Watch out for that "Ticking Time Bomb" in your stack of papers. The Ticking Time Bomb is the "Invoice Due Date" for the products you just found. Why is the "Invoice Due Date" so dangerous? It's all about the "Turn".

What is "Turn"? When you order a product you are given so many days before the invoice is due. If you can sell the product before the invoice due date then you have successfully "Turned" the product. Once you pay the invoice the product cost is eating at your profit on that product. Here is an example: You got 10 Painting for $100 each. Your plan is to sell them for $200 each. The vendor gave you an invoice for $1000 payable in 30 days. You sell 5 Paintings right off the bat for $200 each, now you have broken even, or you at least think you have broken even. You pay the invoice now you have 5 paintings worth $1000 profit. A month goes buy and you still have the 5 paintings. Now 3 months have past and you still have them so you discount them to $150 each. You now have $750 in Profits sitting in these 5 pictures. The paintings have been sitting in you store now for 6 months so you discount them again to $125, leaving you with $625 of profit in the paintings but at this time you would be wrong. The product is costing you money and here is why.

OK, I sold all the Dust Collectors now what?

Look at all the products in your store and see what your customers are buying. Divide the money into 3 piles. Use one pile to buy products that can turn once a month. Use the second to buy items that turn twice a month, can you see where I'm going here. Use the third to buy items that turn 3 times a month. If you sell 30 T-shirts a month, order 10 at a time not 30 Shirts once a month. You will need to keep tight track of your Inventory to reorder the product "Just in Time". By ordering less product more often you will have more "Profits" to reinvest in other products the turn quickly. Turning Inventory and buying the product at the right price is the "Treasure Chest of Hidden Profits"
